Radio Cabinet "before..." (well, not quite...ha!)
The radio had been gutted before I bought it.
I thought it would make an awesome tv console for a small tv...
and I've been anxious to paint something in my new can of
"Emporer's Silk" by Annie Sloan
So, here is the "after"
I waxed it with clear and dark wax,
and updated the pulls with oil-rubbed bronze.
When I bought it there was no bottom, and the middle shelf was wonky and slotted,
So I had OHTF build a few new shelves. :)
The back, on the bottom, is open for cords and such.
On a personal note,
The trophy is my dads, which he won in 1972 (a very good year ;)
when him and his U.S. CIOR teammates were the champions
of the NATO games pentathlon.
Awesome, huh? :)
Have a wonderful day!
great job~ IT'S A BEAUTIFUL PIECE!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren!
DeleteI really like the red color with the dark wax on it. Maybe you could do my little night stand in that. Also I can't remember but that trophy is either pewter or silver. Needs polishing my dear. That is a keepsake so take good care of it.
ReplyDeleteThe night stand would look great like this, what kind of knob are you thinking? The trophy is still at Dad's house so don't worry.:) And the tarnish is what makes it extra cool! :)
DeleteLiking: the red, the tarnish on the trophy, and '72!
ReplyDeleteJen, you're awesome. Where you born in '72???
DeleteYour dad is pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteTrue...:)
DeleteSo, is this one for sale? I don't see a price... Gorgeous--love the color!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's for sale. $145.00 I just linked up to Miss Mustard Seeds blog, and I didn't want the price on the page while people were visiting from there. Feels awkward, don't know why...
DeleteThanks so much Michele!
