Side Tables in Country Grey

I don't even want to tell you how long I've had these side tables...
I really wanted to finish them in time for the market,
but being the procrastinator that I am, I just couldn't do it all.
Here is what they looked like when I found them.
(Of course, I started sanding them before remembering to get a photo, as usual.)

And, here they are now... finally!

I started painting them white at one point, then changed my mind
and painted them in ASCP "country grey"
I love how the white shows through in places...

They are waxed with clear and dark wax,
which gives them a beautiful "old world" look.

Oil rubbed bronze pulls...

Drawers are lined with fabric
Dimensions: 20 1/2" tall, 22" wide, and 28" deep

My First Flea Market

Finally, a moment to write about the White Place Flea Market...
The 2-3 weeks leading up to the market were... CRAZY, to say the least.
Thats when we decided, for sure, to go for it.
I'll spare you ALL the boring details, and only share a few.
Here's the booth the morning of...

Actually, this was taken before Nicole got there, with her incredible paintings, and etched glass and screen printed towels,  which were all incredible! So it looked a little better than this. :)

Brittany and Ryan made the metal flowers and the barn wood flags, and I would dare say, the metal flowers were the most photographed things at the market.

The timber framed pergola was built courtesy of Alpine Timber Frame & Truss,
and it was GORGEOUS!
(it totally helps to have OHTF on your team...:)
(btw, it's for sale as well.:)

I'm kicking myself for not getting any good photos of MY favorite dresser,
you can see a glimpse of it behind the red chalkboard door....
Painted in pure white and duck egg blue, clear and dark waxed to perfection,
with rusty flower knobs, drawers lined with Amy Butler fabric... (sigh.)
It was the first big piece to sell and it went quick. :)

Mark reluctantly said fairwell to HIS favorite dresser with the stained top.
I promised him I'd find another, somewhere, someday...
Gives me a good excuse to keep hunting. :)

My sister designed these awesome business cards, and I just happened to have a rusty hinge stuck in the perfect position to hold them. Love it!

It was a blast!
Would I do it again???
Talk to me in a year... :)

I definately couldn't have done it myself, I had LOTS of awesome help.
THANKS to them, and THANKS to all who came!
Hopefully everyone had as much fun as I did!

P.S. We have leftovers....

Red Radio Cabinet (sans the radio)
Table and 4 cane backed chairs (2 more chairs available)

I hope to highlight each of them in their own post soon!
Have a great day!!!

Nine Drawer Dresser

Here is the "before" picture of this awesome dresser...

I'll admit, I kinda liked the plastic "funky"ness of the top drawers,
and I intended to keep them.
But, once I started tackling the thing, I decided to go in a different direction.
And this is what I came up with....
I'm hesitant to say this is the "after"....
because it might end up being the "in between."
I'm so tempted to slap those plastic funkies back on,
switch out the knobs, and paint the whole thing turquoise...
What do you all think?

UPDATE: It remains the same... A friend of mine saw it and thought it would be perfect for her little boys room. I had to agree...

SOLD! :)

A Fun Challenge....

This little side table got dropped off to me some weeks ago,

with the challenge to make it match a dresser that I painted and sold a while back.
It was one-half of what used to be a vanity, I believe.

The veneer on the top and drawers was in horrible condition.
And to make matters worse, someone had filled it with wood filler but didn't do any sanding after.
One of the back legs was broken, the pulls were off center....
It was ROUGH.
I took it to the shop and had Mark plane off the top and the drawer fronts with his monster planer.
(I took a picture, but can't figure out how to get it off my phone... :p)
After some weeks, (how many? I'm not saying...I thought I'd have it done in one...)
This is the end result...

Here is another little side table that I painted the same color
(That one is for sale!  SOLD )

Tulips are my very favorite flowers. Especially when they get droopy. Love that!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!

Using up some of my "stash".....

I have a little bit of an addiction to fabric. I love having it folded into neat little color coordinated stacks. The way I see it, as long as it's in those stacks, it has so many possibilities... As soon as you cut into it, those possibilities are limited. So there it sits, with endless possibilities, but doing nothing.

But my friend Brittany (the great motivator :),) came over the other day with a bag she was cutting out for a gift. As I helped cut out the bag, I said, "I really should make one of these..." and of course, Britt wouldn't let it stop there. So we headed down to the fabric stock pile and started matching things up.

To make a long story a little bit shorter, a week later, and with much guidance from Britt, this is the end result.

After seeing how cute the fabrics were together, I couldn't leave it at just the bag. I cut the scraps into squares and decided to make a little baby/lap quilt. I used an old sheet for the background and backing.

The best part for me, was that I didn't have to go to the store and buy anything except the fusible fleece for the bag. Everything else I had on hand... just waiting. :)

So there ARE perks to hoarding fabric. (I'm hoping my husband will read this somehow.) It inspires creativity, no? Brittany teased me for keeping all the little tiny scraps. But hey, you never know, right?

I need to mention that the bag pattern is by Amy Hamberlin of Katie Cupcake, and the instructions for the quilt I found on pinterest HERE.

Antique Waterfall Vanity in White and Wood

FOR SALE: {SOLD}

I think I love this vanity.
I can't stop taking pictures of it.
This is what it looked like when I got it...
(Of course, in my excitement, I started sanding the top before getting a photo.)

While I liked the grain of the wood, I couldn't resist painting it.
I chose to paint it in ASCP "Pure White."

I couldn't bring myself to cover up all the gorgeous wood,
so I left the waterfall panels natural, sealing with a polycrylic.

I envisioned glass knobs on it from the beginning,
and they look so charming with the heavily distressed paint.

For as old as it is, the piece is in great condition,
sporting all the original wooden caster wheels. Love those!

The drawers are dovetailed in front and back, and they are lined with fabric.
Dimensions are: 44" wide x 66" tall x 19" deep.

And I have to include this picture of the best photo prop of all time.
She loves having her picture taken!

Have a wonderful day everybody!

Dresser Makeover in Cream and Wood

(I love this photo!)

This incredible dresser came to me as a custom order from a new client.
It was a great quality dresser, with dove tailed drawers...
But the finish needed help and there were some handles missing.
I was told to use creamy white somehow, but I was free to do with it what I wanted....
Woo-Hoo!! ......and ...... (yikes!)

After toying with different possibilities, I decided to go with my first gut feeling,
Paint the bottom in "warm scones" and stain the top in dark walnut.

We filled the original holes and added oil-rubbed bronze cup pulls and knobs.

I'm very pleased with the final outcome! I wish it was mine...:)

What do you all think???
